Find a FedRAMP Advisor

Advisors help prepare; they are not Recognized Independent Assessors. scm.cc does not list or endorse advisors. Use the official Marketplace for assessor records. 3PAO is the older assessor term, not a synonym for advisor.

Educational resource only. scm.cc is not a FedRAMP Recognized Independent Assessor (3PAO) and is not FedRAMP-authorized; it grants no authorization, certification, or assessment outcome. FedRAMP.gov is the authoritative source. This is not legal advice.

Technical detail

Education topics only. No local advisor table. Official outbound for registries is marketplace.fedramp.gov.

How to implement

If the path requires independent assessment, go to /assessors and the official Marketplace. Do not hire an advisor as a substitute for that step.

Common mistakes

- Calling an advisor a 3PAO or assessor. - Treating scm.cc as an advisor marketplace. - Skipping independent assessment because an advisor “signed off.”

Advisor ≠ assessor

An advisor helps a provider prepare evidence, processes, and the SDR. An advisor does not perform independent assessment and cannot issue FedRAMP Certification. scm.cc is an educational product, not an assessor and not an official advisor registry.

When an advisor is useful

Advisors are optional. They may help walk KSIs, evidence quality, and package hygiene. They do not replace a Recognized Independent Assessor where FedRAMP.gov requires one.

How to find an advisor

This hub does not list, rank, or sell advisors. Confirm any Marketplace-related listing on marketplace.fedramp.gov. Do not treat this page as a directory.

How to evaluate an advisor

Ask whether they claim to be an assessor (they should not, unless they are listed as one on the official Marketplace). Ask about 20x vs Rev5, class experience, and whether they will still send you to an independent assessor.

Marketplace listing

Official offering and assessor records live on the FedRAMP Marketplace. Advisor marketing pages are not Marketplace records.
