FedRAMP 20x on AWS
On AWS, 20x evidence usually comes from identity (IAM Identity Center / IAM), configuration and change (CloudTrail, Config, CodePipeline), logging (CloudWatch / security lake), and encryption (KMS, service-managed keys). Name the official KSI, then the AWS API or Config rule that validates it — not a console screenshot alone.
Educational resource only. scm.cc is not a FedRAMP Recognized Independent Assessor (3PAO) and is not FedRAMP-authorized; it grants no authorization, certification, or assessment outcome. FedRAMP.gov is the authoritative source. This is not legal advice.
Technical detail
AWS Security Hub findings can feed continuous monitoring operations. They are provider telemetry, not an independent assessment. Map Security Hub product fields to KSI identifiers in the SDR; do not invent a 'Security Hub = all KSIs met' rule. Confirm current 20x class expectations on FedRAMP.gov.
How to implement
Prefer replayable Config/API exports with timestamps and resource ARNs. Use the KSI-IAM and KSI-CMT family pages before you write an SDR activity. The QA module can ingest connected facts for rehearsal; that rehearsal is not a SAR.
Common mistakes
- A single IAM screenshot as KSI-IAM proof. - Assuming GovCloud automatically satisfies every Class C indicator.
